Minute to Win It

Margaret had a few tricks up her sleeve while at the cabin and planned a few games for us to play.  (and some pretty good prizes) We played Minute to Win It and The Newlywed game.  Brian (Jacks brother) won Minute to Win It and Jack and I destroyed everyone in the Newlywed game.
(okay, maybe destroy is a strong word, nah, I am standing by it.)

Saunders Get Together

After Blanding we headed to Cache Valley to enjoy the company of the Saunders family.
We spent our time enjoying Bear Lake, golfing, playing games,
raspberry shakes, golf, catching up with cousins and did I mention golf.
Thanks for the fun time!  Can't wait till next year.

Let Freedom Ring

Blanding is THE place to be for the 4th of July.
(but don't be caught there any other day of the year, j/k :)
The whole day is filled with awesomeness.
The town goes all out from sun up to sun down.
I am so thankful to live in America and thankful for those who have served our country,
 especially our local hometown heroes.
My favorite part (probably everybodies fav part) was the memorial ride for Jason Workman,
not a dry eye in the parade.

You know you are spending the fourth of July in the right place if you have to grease your child in Crisco so they can try catch a pig.  Or, in Krew's case, he just wanted to pet it.

Taking a break from the festivities.

Man Test

The Opponent:
The Quad

a.k.a. The Artery Clogger, I Can See You Getting Fatter Burger
Weighing in at a hefty ONE POUND

The Challengers:
Jack - a.k.a The Mouth

 Karson - a.k.a The Brain

Davy - a.k.a. Make It Two

 Zeke a.k.a. The Big Easy

Lehi - a.k.a One More Bite

Weighing in at a weight that men their height and age can be proud of.
And weighing out a whole hellaofalot heavier.

The challenge was to eat the whole burger, fries and drink in under an hour. The way it came out of you was up to the discretion of the challengers.
(Let me just say plenty of birds enjoyed some regurgitated burger)

You might be wondering to yourself what did they win for defeating the opponent
They got their name on the Wall of Shame Fame.
Totally Worth it Right!?

(I didn't get a picture of Josh a.k.a. Feed the Birds)

7/24/12

We just got back from three weeks of fabulous vacation time.  Our first stop was to Lake Powell.  One of my favorite places with a bunch of my favorite people.  The water and weather was perfect!  Everyone enjoyed tube rides, building sandcastles and ham/dirt sandwiches (my personal fav).   Krew, Havyn, my nephew Grady and I had a blast out on the tube. But my favorite part of our LP trip was watching my brothers getting rocked on the tube, with ear to ear smiles.  They couldn't stop laughing, like they didn't have a care in the world.  It took me back to childhood, watching them having so much fun.  I am pretty sure they each ended up with a few bruises and one of them may have came off with a black eye.  They didn't get bucked off the tube so they still had their pride. (Don't worry, their pride will be lost with my next blog post about the QUAD burger.  It is as gross as it sounds.)

Kinder Graduation

Our sweet, smart and mischievous (self proclaimed) Havyn, is moving onto first grade.  Pops* came down to see visit us and watch her speak at her graduation.  She loved being in Kindergarten.  She loved learning about the Presidents and Science.  I hope she continues to love to learn throughout her life.  Good job Havyn!

*Thanks Dad for coming to visit us and making us the yummiest dutch oven potatoes and omelets ever!  Come back soon, but fly next time.
